Neoscona crucifera - web - Neoscona crucifera
Roswell, Fulton County, Georgia, USA
July 4, 2012
Web rebuilt each night from top of car to ceiling of carport. Flash overexposed spider, but wanted to show the web here.

night orbweaver - Neoscona crucifera - female Neoscona crucifera - web - Neoscona crucifera

Thanks Kevin
Since you've confirmed the images as the same specimen I've linked them for you. Both images are now on the N. crucifera guide page. Like I said before it's a great web shot.

Moved from Orb Weavers.

Nice web shot
Any chance you can get a good dorsal & ventral of the spider? Then we could place the web shot with the correct species.

I'm not sure why you're calling it a Marbled Orbweaver, it doesn't look like that species - scientific name is Araneus marmoreus. I would guess it's either Neoscona or Eriophora, but I'd need to see the spider shot to be sure.

Edit - Now I see you probably do have an image of the spider. Is this the same spider?

Marbled Orbweaver ?
Lynette - Yes, this is the same spider. I have just uploaded a ventral view. I'm just a photographer, and really have no knowledge of "bugs". But, I kinda agree with Neoscona crucifera.
Thanks for your help and time!
