Larvae found
I found (and was bitten by) what I belive to be the larvae of this insect. It was about three inces long and matches all descriptions and pictures I have found so far. I too live in Housatonic, and I found it down at Old Maids swimming hole by the dam. (btw, it's bite is very strong, and quite painful!)
