Mating pair - Melanagromyza - male - female

Mating pair - Melanagromyza - Male Female
Somerset, Pulaski County, Kentucky, USA
June 30, 2012
Size: about 2.3 mm each
Found this pair resting on vegetation, and they stayed in copula even after collecting. I do not remember their orientation when I found them.

Male is on left.

Entirely black, except abdomen metallic green.

Not Dolichopodidae?
R-M appears too far from the base of the wing to be Dolichopodidae (at least Dolichopodidae s. str.). The indentation where Sc joins C is also atypical.

thanks John
appears I am too used to the little metallic flies being this family
