Numbers
Only a few species in this group in the east. Several are close visually.
Identification
Distinctive in the east but many species in the west and Texas regions. Note the number of silvery segments.
Range
Several species which are transcontinental. This group (or genus) occurs essentially throughout North America.
Habitat
Most Efferia sensu strictoare open landscape insects: Albibarbs often inhabit river, creek and seaside areas.
Season
Mid to late summer for most.
