I had checked my guidebooks and BG's "fly" page. (I don't know how I overlooked the matching images there--thanks for the link.) I finally came around to thinking maybe I was searching the wrong order and this was a moth. I appreciate your help. I'm glad to know my original thought that this is diptera was correct. I think I'm getting a smidgen better at this. So much to learn...
