Bizarre spider - Micrathena gracilis

Bizarre spider - Micrathena gracilis
Athens/ Rock and Shoals Outcrop, Clarke County, Georgia, USA
June 15, 2012
Size: 6-7 mm
I've been stuck on this one for a month. When I first saw it, I thought it looked like someone had taken a Micrathena mitrata and stretched it out! The habitat was a grassy field adjacent to a dry granite outcrop.

Very close to correct.
It's amazing how many people are finding this one this year. This is the male Micrathena gracilis.
