Ground Beetle - Ophonus puncticeps

Ground Beetle - Ophonus puncticeps
Townsend, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
July 14, 2012
Attracted to light.

Thanks Jim
Moved from Beetles.

Ophonus puncticeps
is my guess based on shape, color, and pronotal texture.

Hi Peter,
It looks like a carabid to me but it's important to capture a straight-down view of the head and pronotum for better chances of identification.

Thanks Jim
I replaced original photo with this one looking straight down.
