American Bird Grasshopper - Schistocerca americana - Female

Size: 76 mm
After heavy rain, this grasshopper landed on my ninth floor balcony window. This is an urban environment. Photo taken at 4:35 pm. It was here for 3 hours.

often they are attracted to lights
Also, they are somewhat migratory, and can fly long distances. This is a female "American Bird Grasshopper" - Schistocerca americana.
