Size
8-16 mm.
Identification
Broad pale markings on elytra. Narrow sinuate band at base of elytra is distinctive.
Range
Eastern North America
Habitat
Typically deciduous forests
Season
April to October in Eastern North America. Likewise reported April-October at lower elevations in North Carolina, May-August in mountains.
Food
Larvae feed under the bark (occasionally in the bark) of hickory and other hardwoods, also pine.
Remarks
Often attracted to UV lights.
