Explanation of Names

Probably an eponym. Josef N. Knull (1891-1975) and Dorothy Johnson Knull were entomologists active at Ohio State University.

Numbers

This is the only Nearctic species in the genus.

15-30 mm.

Remarks

On older name for this genus was Cerasphorus.
