Caddisfly - Phryganea

Caddisfly - Phryganea
Hampshire County, Massachusetts, USA
August 2, 2006
Size: ~15 mm
A beautifully marked caddisfly.

Phryganea
This appears to be one of two eastern species of Phryganea, either sayi or cinerea. I'm judging by the profuse spines on the legs, the wing shape, the stout antennae and the wing markings, especially the white ones along the ridge that form a diamond shape. Nicely captured.
