Spider in CT - Neoscona crucifera - male

Spider in CT - Neoscona crucifera - Male
Gaylordsville, Litchfield County, Connecticut, USA
August 1, 2012
Size: 8 mm body
Unfortunately I'm colored blind so I couldn't identify using any database. Found this guy crawling on my blanket. I think I may have brought him in after sitting on the stairs of a wooden deck. Seemed docile but I think I may have inadvertently injured him or her. I've uploaded a view from above and also the underside. Just curious as to what type of spider it is.

Moved to Neoscona crucifera
Moved from ID Request. Pattern & shape also works for IDing spiders... color is secondary because it's often variable.
