Size: ~10mm
I bet I wasn't the only one from the gathering that saw (or worse, was bitten by) one of these. I might be the only one that took a picture of one though. Determination is mine based on this Identification Guide

You've just added a new mosquito for Alabama. I have found 6 species, but none as cool as this one.
