Whatever it is, it is ambushing the butterflies in the butterfly bush. What is it?

It definitely is not a dragon
It definitely is not a dragonfly and it looks like a robber fly.

 
There are so many species of
There are so many species of dragonflies in our garden this year and I knew this didn't really look like a dragonfly. But, the size and the predatorial nature made me think it might be in that classification. Thank you for your comments.

I can't really tell you anything special about them...
