Identification
Adult: wings tan with reddish to brown lines and shading at margins, if present; AM and median lines diffuse, sometimes absent; PM line curves outward except near anal angle; sometimes the only line; fringe red (1)
Range
New Hampshire and southern Quebec to Florida, west to Texas and Nebraska; also occurs in the west from British Columbia to California, inland at least to Utah
Season
adults fly April-October
Food
unrecorded; probably a variety of low plants (1)
