Size: <1mm
This very fast tiny mite was a hitchhiker on the beetle I found yesterday. Ideas?

Cool shot…
Not sure of the type, but using your estimate of 1 mm for the larger mite, then the length of the mite on the right hind leg would be about 0.106 mm, ranking it among the smallest known arthropods.

Thanks Ross!
That's very cool. When I checked the container the next day the mite had died so I decided to preserve it in 70% alcohol. When I dumped it out on a piece of paper I noticed even smaller stuff crawling so I got a few pics Then preserved them all. If someone has a microscope and wants to have a look at them they are more than welcome.

Not an expert, Not an ID
Are you sure it was dead and not just (call it pupating) into an adult?
Here are some that are similar (to me).

Thanks
John!

Next time
try to raise it! An expert may still be able to ID this deutonymph further if you can send it to someone. Here is a different mite I am tring to raise, but not so much is know so you just "try stuff" :-)

How cool...
...it looked dead to me but who knows. I didn't even know about the pupating thing. Your photos of the mite showing the growth progress are amazing, thank you!
