Meadow Fritilary - Boloria bellona

Meadow Fritilary - Boloria bellona
Campbellville, Halton, Ontario, Canada
August 5, 2006
Just need some confermation on this one...never seen this species before.

Was very small for a fritilary. At least half the size of others I have seen. Was nectering on a Heal-All flower.

Seen breafly in the mown grassy are beside a resivoir. No side shot due to my distraction with a Great Swallowtail and worry of running out of space (which did happen).

I agree...
Appears to be a Meadow Frit. (Boloria bellona) Nice image!

Thanks!
