O. rimosa ?
The area is dominated by forest, a mixed aspen-pine-maple forest. There are intermingled areas of grassy and weedy meadows too, however. This cicada apparently had just hatched-out on an old mine dump area with sweet clover, milkweed, and other weedy growth.

Honestly, these (Okanagana) are not easy by picture alone.
This cicada does not look orange enough for rimosa, but Okanagana can be locally variable.

id = Okanagana sp. ?
There are several very similar looking species in your area. I suspect this is not rimosa (looks similar to O. balli).
Was this cicada found in a "prairie-like environment" or forested area?
