Brown beetle

Brown beetle
Bryce Canyon National Park, Garfield County, Utah, USA
August 13, 2012
Size: 10 mm
Found at night near or under a log. Only photo I got, I'm afraid.

Moved from Beetles.

neat and not sure
I keep coming back to this image but nothing grabs me. I am thinking a Diplotaxis. It seems to be fully winged, and for something with this habitus I'd almost expect an apterous dune specialist.

Thanks for working on it, Blaine -
I wish I had more images of this one, but I don't.
