Dimorphopteryx on trembling aspen - Dimorphopteryx
Wishart Point, Northumberland County, New Brunswick, Canada
August 18, 2012
Size: 2 cm
A fringed sawfly larva on small trembling aspen, Populus tremuloides, one of two. I don't think you have this one in your species list. One-toned head, on aspen.

Beech?
On second thought, this may have been a small beech sapling masquerading as an aspen. I thought the leaves were rather large.

Balsam poplar [edit 9Aug13]
