Fabulous bug needs id - Phymata fasciata

Size: half inch long
I found this creature on an overcast day sitting atop a Ragwort (Ambrosia artemisiifolia) leaf. I was struck by the crab-like front appendages. Do you recognize it ?Anything this spectacular deserves a proper name! Thank you.
