Mystery Click Beetle - Aeolus

Mystery Click Beetle - Aeolus
Montrose, Laurens County, Georgia, USA
April 2, 2012
Size: approx. 5 mm BL
Found on back porch after dark. I'm fairly sure this is a common species, but I can't find the bloody thing anywhere in the Guide...

hope you save them for Blaine...
Moved from ID Request.

I'm afraid that
isn't in the cards this year. I have some mobility issues right now and am restrained from a lot of movements that involve fine motor control. It is going away, but very slowly.

sorry to hear that... get well soon, Jon.
the issues you mention do not seem to affect your ability to take magnificent pictures

I agree, this is a great pic...
you can acutally see the second, internal carina on the pronotal hind angles! Wow! If only I could see a lateral view of the scutellum I could tell you if this is mellillus or scutellatus.
