Dichromorpha viridis subspecies? - Dichromorpha viridis - female

Dichromorpha viridis subspecies? - Dichromorpha viridis - Female
Elkin, Yadkin County, North Carolina, USA
August 25, 2012
Size: 83.6 K
This specimen is very similar in anatomy to Dichromorpha viridis, but the "comoflage" coloration was quite different than the typical coloration of that species.

just regular ol' Dichromorpha viridis,
but the coloring is interesting. This sort of pattern is more common in the nymphs than in the adults of this species.

Moved from ID Request.

Thanks
After catching these for years as reptile food, you'd think I'd have seen that coloration before,
Thanks.

Does anyone know what this is?
I have never seen a grasshopper with this coloration brfore.
