Jerusalem Cricket - Ammopelmatus

Jerusalem Cricket - Ammopelmatus
Elko, Elko County, Nevada, USA
August 26, 2012
Size: 1 1/2 inches
We saw this bug today and when trying to figure out what it was, we came across your site and saw that you had none listed in this state. Northern Nevada is a little odd for the Jerusalem Cricket so we thought other bug enthusiasts might be interested to see the one we found. It was early evening when we saw it walking across our patio. We thought it was a giant ant at first, never seen anything like it.

Fills the hole in the map quite nicely. :)

Thanks, and welcome to BugGuide!
