Staphy - Scopaeus

Staphy - Scopaeus
Somerset, Pulaski County, Kentucky, USA
June 28, 2012
Size: 4.5 mm
Taken at UV light.

Eustilicus or perhaps more likely Rugilus? (but it lacks coarse punctures on the head)

Moved from Rove Beetles.

Seems I was interpreting the gular sutures incorrectly. This one appears to be female but hopefully I'll find a male in my sample. Keys to the species group with longer hind tarsi (Casey's Scopaeopsis).
