Hi Steve,
I've been trying to use my knuckles for scaling and I keep coming up with a beetle closer to 3 cm in length. Is that possible? If so your specimen looks like Orthostethus infuscatus to me. It even has that odd shape to the tip of the pronotal spine.

 
Hmm, I hadn't thought of that.
Based on my knuckle it is 1.8 cm from the head to the top of the knuckle so it would be between 2.5 and 3 cm in total length. Thanks for the effort. :)

Measuring from tendon ridge to edge of skin fold yields 3 cm. In the image that matches the length of the beetle. You may be correct! Thanks for the effort. I had long since filled this one as "genus, species". :)

but I´m not sure.
