I know you have a real decent camera. You could use this photo and carve out a good "rounded scutellum" shot to show all the folks a good generic ID feature.

scutellum? I tried zooming, but I think I set the aperture too high so the quality becomes crap when i zoom in. Good idea though, I think I will do it with a microscope

I have never seen these biting, because the only time I saw them was the winter, when they are diapausing.
