Shiny and pink - Leptinotarsa

Shiny and pink - Leptinotarsa
Allentown, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, USA
August 9, 2006
Size: 5mm
Perched on a spiny solanum stem, with what looked like a very new exterior.

Larva.
This is the larva of a leaf beetle, quite possibly the Colorado potato beetle, in fact, or something in that genus, anyway. Very unique image!

Ditto!
Extreme likely be a true or false potato beetle when found on a Soanaceae plant. - Chen
