, put them in a baggie & a couple of weeks later saw the beetles in the baggie.

Althaeus ID
Based upon the gestalt of the metafemoral spurs and the nature of the genitalia, all the individuals you sent me were Althaeus folkertsi Kingsolver. I can post pics of the genitalia here later.
A. folkertsi is the predominant midwestern species, but becomes sympatric with A. hibisci in the eastern states. Here in Ohio, though we have both species, we have predominantly A. hibisci.
I have genitalia clearing now for mounting too.
