Episyron snowi - male

Episyron snowi - Male
5 mi. S. of Barston, California, USA
June 20, 2006
Size: ~10 mm
This male E. snowi was made available to me by Will Ericson. Notice (if the quality of the photo allows) the dense, appressed, scale-like pubescence covering the thorax and first tergite (this is what makes it appear quite silvery). Most of the flagellar segments may appear "rippled". This is due to their bases being constricted. Also notice that the tibial spurs are pure white (light brown or dirty whitish in E. quinquenotatus and E. biguttatus).
