This fascinating creature all decorated with bits of leaves was observed at Meaher State Park during the 2012 Bug Swarm. I was sure that someone else must have taken a better photo, but I didn't find one by searching for "gathering_2012". I know I was told what this was, but I didn't have anything to take notes with, and I'm afraid I've quite forgotten...

Thsnks! This sure looks a lot like the Synchlora caterpillars, and notice that Robert Zimlich has posted quite a few Synchlora moths from the Mobile area to BugGuide.
