Agelenopsis - Agelenopsis potteri - male

Agelenopsis - Agelenopsis potteri - Male
Cowichan Valley, British Columbia, Canada
September 12, 2012
Size: ~13mm body length
Another wandering male Agelenopsis from the side of the house. This one's larger than the A. oregonensis males I've run into. Would the hooked embolus make him A. potteri? Based on Kevin's comment here...

... and the fact I've seen A. oregonensis doesn't have it, A. oklahoma would be the only other option. I have no idea what it's palps look like.

From Rod Crawford
This is clearly potteri - though one might add "sensu lato". My Russian colleague Yuri Marusik believes 2 species have been confused under this name, but hasn't published his conclusions yet. The species is synanthropic and no one is quite sure where it originated.
