Green Midge - female

Green Midge - Female
Mobile (Dog River), Mobile County, Alabama, USA
September 13, 2012
Size: ~2mm
Polypedilum or something completely different?

Might be Tanytarsini
I may have misinterpreted the wing. This may be Tanytarsini. The wing appears to be very hairy, but the genera of Chironomini with hairy wings should not be green. (Pentapedilum, Sergentia, Phaenopsectra.)

High res image ...
John, I still have my original RAW file, so I replaced this with a high res image. You can see the hairy wings better, now
