Anartia Jatrophae at Franklin Park Zoo - Anartia jatrophae
This lovely butterfly had its photo taken August 1, 2006, inside the Butterfly Tent at Franklin Park Zoo in Massachusetts.

We removed the data from the fields for this image
since the software that extracts data would interpret that this species would be found in the wild in Massachusetts, and put the date in your comment.

I'm sorry, I'm new... I thought they told us that these were native to the area and my son swore he saw them outside in the park, wasn't sure how to deal with this particular photo. Thanks!

Again - no problem
but this is a very southern species. You can click on the DATA tab and see where all the images on BugGuide for this species have been located. We have struggled on BugGuide with what to do about captive specimens. There has been a recent discussion in the Forums on just that topic. We were just removing the field data so Mike's mapping software wouldn't pick it up. Others may have a different solution, so don't be surprised if you get conflicting opinions until a decision is reached.
