Conocephalus fasciatus - male

Conocephalus fasciatus - Male
Kennebunkport, York County, Maine, USA
September 22, 2012
Size: 1.4 cm
I heard an oddly loud meadow katydid call in a small salt marshy area near the side of the road. When I swept the area, I only found these katydids, which look more like C. fasciatus to me.

edit, Sept 2020: finally had a chance to revisit the site and locate the source of the loud call from 8 years ago!
