ID Me Please - Armadillidium nasatum
Madisonville, Hopkins County, Kentucky, USA
August 13, 2006
Size: 7-8 mm
The common name for these in Kentucky is "rolly-polly," which is pronounced as: rōl'-ē - pōl'-ē. I would love to get the latin name for it so I can properly log this one in on my journal of species I saw on my back porch.

Moved
Moved from Woodlice.

Armadillidium nasatum?
Possibly an Armadillidium nasatum, but the head is not very sharp to be sure.

Yes
Armadillidium nasatum, if it was a bit more focused and lighter, it would look very much like Photo#43648; the middle lobe is visible.

Search for "wood louse".
Search for "wood louse". It is also in a group called "isopods".

its hard to say
but it is most likely Family Armadillidiidae

Pill Bug
I'm shure that is a Pill Bug that you have there. I'm not sure what the scientific name is for him though. When we were younger we always called tham "Rolly Pollys"!
