Linyphiid - Diplostyla concolor - female

Linyphiid - Diplostyla concolor - Female
Cowichan Valley, British Columbia, Canada
September 23, 2012
Size: ~2.5-3mm body length
Found under a piece of bark by the side of the house. She wasn't very cooperative, so I didn't push my luck with a face shot.

A very long scape here!

Moved
Moved from Bathyphantes concolor. Moved all these due to updating taxonomy to match the World Spider Catalog.

From Rod Crawford
Bathyphantes (Diplostyla) concolor (Wider). An introduced species, recorded across northern USA and a few Canadian provinces. Published BC records are from "Iona Beach (Richmond), Richmond, Coquitlam (Colony Farm), Vernon, Summerland."

Moved from Spiders.

Bathyphantes concolor
John and Jane were right! Now I see the species on the checklist, under Diplostyla.

The ones that we have here that look like this
are Bathyphantes concolor

...
Looks very similar! B. concolor isn't in the BC checklist, but it could be in the same genus. These inconspicuous Linyphiids are hard!

EDIT: You were right on!
