Oxycopis mcdonaldi (Arnett)

Oedemeridae.
Hm-m-m. These have 'got' to be oedemerids (false blister beetles), but I've never seen so many at once, and not ones that are so iridescent! I'll be interested in Don Chandler's comments.

 
Yes, oedemerids
Southern taxa, so I won't make an attempt on placement to genus. Many of the taxa that have larvae in rotting wood tend to have reasonably synchronous emergences as adults. So, if you are at the log on the right day, it can be amazingly productive for species that are otherwise hard to find.

To both of you for the ID. These beetles don't appear that irredescent unless well-lit (as from the flash).
Thay have been gathered by day under this light for a couple of weeks now.
