This book was meant to be published around 96/97 but was rejected by the publisher at the last minute. Very few manuscripts were made but this lost work fell into obscurity. Recently a scan has been made to salvage this lost work. In comparison to the original book there is much added and the finished product would have turned out great. A tentative synopsis of the Hornets and Yellowjackets of America By Joseph Bequaert

This is the first major revision of North American Vespinae and Vespinae systematics in general. This review provides keys to the North American species as well as provides extensive distributional data and biological notes. Additions and corrections to this publication contaning distributional, biological, and nomenclatiorial information was added in two subsequent publications (1935 and 1941). Links are provided to those below.
Additionally provided below is Bequaert's divisions of the Vespinae which is a prequel to this review and deals with all known species of the Vespinae worldwide that were known at the time.

This is an early work on the North American species of Vespula and Dolichovespula. It contains keys to the North American species as well as provides distributional maps showing individual species range in the U.S. and Canada. It also lists extensive distributional data based on specimen data and breif biological notes are made for each species.
