Syrphid
Very close to Spilomyia fusca, if not the same species.

Spilomyia
Thanks, Herschel! I tried browsed through the syrphids but never found Spilomyia. That S. fusca looks like a definite match, unless there's a similar species that's not represented in the Guide.
