Meadowhawks
I agree with John and Jane, you have to be careful expressing much certainty with Meadowhawks, particularly with Ruby and Cherry-faced and White-faced.

Two traits to be on the lookout for (and to try to document with photos), are the color of the legs and the color of the "face."

Finding either pale legs or a white face can help with the ID. In this case I think I can just barely see a little of the female's face peeking out white. Not certain, though.

Sympetrum - yes
Ruby? We couldn't say. Just too hard to tell these dang things apart (though the common one in our nearby woods is rubicundulum) But we only know that from looking at hundreds of them over the course of the entire year!
