Syrphid Fly - Lejops

Syrphid Fly - Lejops
Central Park, New York County, New York, USA
August 6, 2006
Syrphidae. Anasimyia sp? (or Lejops?) Thanks for any ID help. Sandy

Yes, Lejops distinctus
In Europe we would place it in the genus Anasimyia, but in the nearctic this is a subgenus from Lejops.
This seems to be the male of Lejops distinctus, judging by the orange coloration of the abdomen.
So, male of Lejops (Anasimyia) distinctus!
Greetings

Thanks
