not Eleodes; must be an asidine, rather... Philolithus?
need a plain dorsal, of course: critical for beetle identification in the vast majority of cases; oblique angles like this one often help but are of very limited use if posted alone

Hah, no wonder it seemed unusual
I am not familiar with this genus before today. I will upload some more pictures that should help.
It doesn't seem that I have a perfect dorsal view, but the next 2 images should help.
