Springtail, species or behavior info? - Cerastipsocus venosus

Springtail, species or behavior info? - Cerastipsocus venosus
Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, USA
October 18, 2012
Size: 3 mm
Likely a springtail, species would be nice to know. Found in a group of 40 moving like a herd of close knit sheep on a holly bush close to the ground, but did not appear to be feeding on it. They displayed group awareness, flowing like water and stopping periodically. Antenna slightly larger than body size, held back at rest. Even the two that I captured still remain close at all times. Very strange behavior, as thier movement was better orchastrated than other group insects (ants, termites) But all appeared the same, no differnces in size color or caste.

Common Barklouse
Moved from ID Request.

Chad,
I cropped and enhanced your photo as best I could, because of my interest in Cerastipsocus psocids. While I see adults during the winter, this is the only other nymph I've seen this late. I would appreciate if you could post any other photos of these you might see. For more information, see my posts on Cerastipsocus Herds. Again, Thank you for your contribution.
Robert
