Junior OrbWeaver - Larinioides cornutus - male

Junior OrbWeaver - Larinioides cornutus - Male
White Fox, Torch River, Saskatchewan, Canada
October 20, 2012
Size: ~ 5.8 mm.
Leave the garage undisturbed for a few days and all sorts of spiders move in and make themself comfortable.
I found this juvenile close to the floor trying to hang onto a dusty cardboard box in the corner behind the door. Steatoda is the majority, cold, slow moving Araneus, Dolomedes, Pardosa and Thomisidae trying to move through the tangle of web.
Dorsal anchors, banding on legs and ventral pattern, my first guess, A. marmoreus http://bugguide.net/node/view/2016

Moulted Nov. 25.
Older spider here

Until maturity?
The 5 day forecast is Snow, Temp. from 5 to -8C. Bug season just about over. I'll risk moving him into my home and hope friends find time to capture their house flies for me.
Thanks to everyone for your comments and time.

Moved
Moved from Araneus. My best guess in this case is Larinioides cornutus. I'm basing that mostly due to the shiny abdomen and the short legs. However, since it's a juvenile I could be wrong. It might be L. patagiatus. Any chance you can watch it mature?

We would agree with Larinioides
and Lynette may be able to say which one

Subadult. My first guess woul
Subadult. My first guess would be Larinioides cornutus.

OK. I'm way off again
Larinioides cornutus a whole lot closer, and on the local list #26291. It would be a first for me. Now that I am looking in the right place, L. patagiatus isn't new to me and very similar.
It's your call.

..
Yeah, I couldn't say which, but for my money Larinioides. Let's see what the others have to say.
