Synonyms and other taxonomic changes
Originally described as Gelechia camptogramma (Meyrick 1931)(1).
Size
FW 4 to 5 mm, wing expanse 8 to 9 mm.
Identification
Mostly blackish with a longitudinal dorsal white stripe from head to 3/4 length of forewings, turning sharply and crossing obliquely to the costal margin. Similar to Aroga unifasciella of the western U.S. but barely half the size. (A. unifasciella has a wingspan of 18 mm.)
Range
Scattered records in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arizona. Originally described from Alpine (Brewster Co.) and Forestburg (Montague Co.), Texas. Additional records (BG, iNaturalist, MPG) from central Texas, the Coastal Bend, and Texas Panhandle, along with central Oklahoma, and western Arizona.
Season
Apparently two flights, April-June and September-October.
