6011248 fly - Pteromicra

6011248 fly - Pteromicra
Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, USA
August 9, 2006
Size: ~1/4"

Moved
Moved from Clusiidae. Owen Lonsdale is a clusiid expert, so he would know what this is.

The colouration and body shap
The colouration and body shape is almost exactly that of some Clusiodes, but based on the head and thorax, I would say that it is a Pteromicra (Sciomyzidae).

Clusiidae: Clusiodes maybe
Looks pretty close to Clusiodes terminalis. If it was from NH, I would be more decisive.
