bloodshot eyed moth habitat - Syssphinx hubbardi

bloodshot eyed moth habitat - Syssphinx hubbardi
Organ Mountains foothills, Dona Ana County, New Mexico, USA
August 9, 2006
Size: about 33 mm folded-wing
This is a view of the habitat where I had my UV lights set up -- a mile or so further uphill -- attracting this and hundreds of other insect species. When I mention the "jagged spires" of the Organ range (there are some actual spires up there), this is what I'm referring to.
