Moth sheet with UV lights

Moth sheet with UV lights
Organ Mountains foothills, Dona Ana County, New Mexico, USA
August 9, 2006
This is my second ripstop nylon moth sheet purchased from BioQuip. I wore the first one out, no doubt by leaving it exposed to sunlight for days at a time. The two 15-Watt BioQuip UV bulbs in this view (there's one on the other side) are powered by an auto battery. I use a separate battery from the one in my auto so I can carry it to remote locations (good trapezius exersize).

Any good auto supply store will sell a variety of 12-volt DC power splitters and adaptors for hooking up multiple lights and appliances. I hook my battery up to a battery charger as soon as possible so it is ready to go for my next "night out."
