Pentatomid

Pentatomid
Cross Plains, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA
August 18, 2006
I photographed these tiny bugs and what I presume are their egg cases from which they hatched on a branch of fall aster. The bugs have stayed together in a group over the past few days, never moving very far from their original location but always remaining together in a group. They are very tiny, approximately 1 mm in length.

Moved
Moved from Stink Bugs.

Pentatomids - stink bugs - I believe.
The barrel-shaped eggs and the shape of the bug nymphs are both typical. Hard to ID at this very small size, though we are beginning to get a few nymphs classified as we develop the guide.

But 1 cm
is a little large though. A couple of mm maybe?

mm is correct
Yes, the bugs were several mm in length, not a cm as I originally said. Thanks for the ID.

I've moved these to the family level
- if you happen to get more shots of them in later instars, it would be nice to see them added here. Unfortunately, if they are anything like mine they'll disperse as they mature.

Yes, I was going to suggest that, too.
They are very similar to these from my yard, that were 2mm:
